Our Logo Has Changed, Here's Why!

What’s in a name?  What’s in a brand?

So after two years of living with Catalyst for Africa, we decided to revisit our brand/logo.  For many of you, you just see four paddle like figures connected to a black orb with Africa in the middle.  But I wanted to give you a little more background and understanding of who we are and why we chose this symbol.

When Catalyst for Africa was birthed in my heart and mind, I instantly began looking at Adinkra symbols which originate from Ghana, West Africa.  The one that captured my attention really encapsulated what we are about.  It’s called Akoma Ntoaso and it means “Linked Hearts.”  Akoma means “hearts” and Ntoaso means “to link.”  But the standard symbol found on the web looks more like paddles than hearts and then I found an old drawing that depicts better the real meaning of the symbol:

So, we wanted to re-brand and be more true to the original drawing and meaning of Akoma Ntoaso and so here it is:

Our vision is to see African leaders impact the continent of Africa for Jesus Christ and we believe that can only be accomplished when we link hearts.  Would you be willing to link hearts with us?

We are going to change the world, in Jesus’ name, one relationship at a time.
